Seven Steps for a Highly Effective Person that Cares
WHEN: Anytime on 11/11/2021.Indiana Dunes State Park is open 7 AM until 11 PM. Normally there is a $7 fee for Indiana residents and a $12 fee for out of state residents BUT sometimes they have a sign by the entrance which reads [No Gate Fee at this time].
1) TELL others about this opportunity to pray and get some fellowship with others who care about current veterans or those that have past. Notify military organizations, family, friends, enemies, neighbors, coworkers, children, parents, grandparents, great grandparents, ...
2) Come to the (???)Veteran's Memorial in Chesterton, Indiana 46304 (Exit 26A from Interstate 94. Then at second stop light turn right onto Porter Ave. (1200N) and then immediately turn LEFT and the Vietnam Memorial is to the left of the ambulance station)
3) Pray a prayer of thanks for all the past and current veterans
4) Drive to the Indiana Dunes STATE Park (1600 North 25 East, Chesterton, IN 46304-1142) MAP: https://www.in.gov/dnr/state-parks/files/dunes_trail.pdf
5) Drive & Park through Entrance gate. Turn RIGHT at the roundabout and turn RIGHT to go to the Nature Center parking lot and IF FILLED park in one of these lots in the in this order of closeness:
A) North Orchard Shelter
B) South Orchard
C) Wilson Shelter
D) Southwest Shelter
E) Duneside Shelter
F) Tremont Shelter
G) City West Shelter
H) Main parking lot for Beach Pavilion
I) Beach West Lot (This is in Indiana Dunes State Park and NOT the Indiana Dunes National Park location in Portage Indiana; It is normally closed on 11/11/YYYY.)
J) Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, which is a 2.5 miles walk to the Nature Center, (1215 N State Rd 49, Porter, IN 46304)
6) HIKE
A) Trail 10 east and then RIGHT(south) on Trail 2 Boardwalk and take Trail 2 which will go RIGHT (west) after the 1/2 mile boardwalk ends and continue until you can turn RIGHT (west) and turn to go to Wilson Shelter area and walk on road west 1/4 mile to the North Orchard Shelter and turn RIGHT (north) to the small short few hundred feet unnamed trail to the Nature Center.
B) Trail 7 north to the BEACH and then LEFT (west) to the Dunes Creek and left (south) past the Devil's Slide and then LEFT(south) alongside parking lot to the first sidewalk and turn LEFT (east) onto the Beach Trail which has a boardwalk which leads to the campground and stay to the left side, the north side, and go completely through to the Nature Center.
7) RETURN home and feel better.
