RARE OPPORTUNITY! Don't sleep on it!

WHAT: marsha, Marsha, MARSHA HIKE 

WHEN: Saturday, July 12, 2025, 7/12/25, starting at 8:00 AM CST.

WHERE: Meet at the Nature Center of the Indiana Dunes State Park (NOT the Visitor Center of the Indiana Dunes which is east off of Indiana 49)

WHY:  To have bragging rights that YOU did it AND to see incredible things in and around the Great Marsh AND to hear some wild stories about it that I am confident YOU never heard before, not that I am super smart but because I have time to research it because everyday is a Saturday for me!

WHAT TO BRING?:  

   1) A backpack filled with water and food. 

   2) A smartphone with these apps: Google Maps, Hiking Project, iNaturalist, and What3Words

   3) A sense of adventure and humor

WOW how many miles is it?:

 marsha -Trail 10 east to the Trail 2 south to the Wetland Observation Platform then to Trail 10 and then go east to the cut-over trail north to Trail 9 then west back on Trail 9 to the Nature Center. THIS "marsha" is roughly 3 miles 

 Marsha - From the Kemil Beach Parking Lot of the Indiana dunes National Park to the southeast corner of the parking lot onto the Dune Ridge Trail (my favorite trail) THIS "Marsha" is roughly 1 mile

 MARSHA - From the northeast part of the Dune Ridge Trail onto the Beverly Shores Trails east and then south to Beverly Drive of Beverly Shores and then head east to Broadway then south to the first entrance to the Great Marsh and do the trail then exit back onto Broadway and go north to the Lake View Beach then to the  1933 Chicago World's Fair Century of Progress Homes then to Dunbar Beach then to Kemil Beach then to the Kemil Beach parking lot where the hike sadly comes to an end! THIS "MARSHA" is roughly 6 miles

TOTAL MILEAGE of marsha, Marsha, MARSHA IS: 3 + 1 + 6 = 12 miles

One can just do one or two or all three of the marsha, Marsha, MARSHA hikes.
