These were marine recruits I had the honor of being with, hiking at the Indiana Dunes State Park as a little training before taking off to boot camp in San Diego. After getting on top of the Devil’s Slide, the marine sergeants made them do PUSH UPS and jumping jacks all so that we can have FREEDOM.

   9:00 AM ~ 1:30 PM CST (estimate)

WHERE: From the Pavilion of the Indiana Dunes State Park

Google maps location: - https://goo.gl/maps/4Mu3wMJEJ3idHSjZ9

WHAT: Doing photography for the BIG hiking event I have on 5/13/21 on HikerVETS.Com. This is a ***RUGGED*** and muddy hike! It starts from the Pavilion to the beach and east to Trail 8 UP to Mt. Tom THEN to Mt. Holden THEN to Mt. Jackson THEN to Wilson Shelter THEN to Trail 2 and go west, right, through the muddy area to the end of Trail 2 then work our way to the beginning of Trail 3 to the Bird Observation Platform

WHY: 1) Build microbiome 2) Mental and physical health 3) Scenery

WHO: YOU! TEXT 1-219-370-9119 to see if there is room in the hike. We like to keep it small so we can all talk and learn something from each other. Just include your name so I can keep track of who is coming or we are waiting for.

NOTES:

1) Bring water.

2) Bring snacks for yourself if needed

3) Weather: IndianaDunesHiking.Com/Weather-Forecasts

4) This adventure is NOT training for a 5K race. We STOP a lot and talk about the nature of nature and take photos and look, Gaze, and STARE at things like animals, ecosystems, flowers, leaves, fungi, trees, and other plants!

Never shown GIF I made in July, 2020. I NEVER LOOKED THROUGH THE LENS OF THE NIKON D7000. I JUST HELD IT NOT KNOWING WHAT I WOULD GET SO I WOULDN'T CAUSE DISTRACTION WITH THE CAMERA. They don't mind photos. Mennonites will often have a camera. Amish will not use electricity nor be vain.

YOU!

11.25.22

Remember my goals:

1. GET people out of their toxic drywall boxes

2. TAKE them to see nature

3. TEACH  them about nature

4. LOVE and nurture them so they experience and LOVE the nature of nature

5. The last is the most difficult

Get them to want to PROTECT & PRESERVE nature.

My first HUGE project in environmentalism:

AT THE TOP OF THE WEB PAGE THERE ARE TWO PHOTOS:

The top photo is from a hike I led with 48 Amish people. It was so much fun and they really appreciated the Indiana Dunes. The second photo that says, "sit LESS hike MORE," is a shadow photograph with me on the left, a person who has Alzheimer's and haven't been on a hike in ten years.
